What’s chicer than a rose milk punch?
I know nothing of cocktails, but I am intrigued by all that is old school, floral and poetic. Rose Milk Punch checks all the three. Light and sweet and with a subtle tartness coming from the berries tea.
My girlfriends in Rome inspired this milk punch, so it’s obviously perfect for Galentine’s day.
No matter what disaster we were going through, it always ended with a laugh. Like that time that my best friend Elisa was seeing a guy with a very lazy bloodhound, and just on their second date, at goodbyes, he told her, “I love you.”
That provoked many sessions of “Why he f* told me that?”, and a deep analysis of e-ve-r-y- s-i-n-g-l-e-w-o-r-d and conduct this guy had in just two dates. After that, she finally asked why the hell he told her that. He answered: I said, “I’ll call you.”
…
In my friend’s defense, it must be said that in Italian, the words Ti Chiamo and Ti Amo have very similar sounds.
But still, when I think about that, I burst out to laugh to tears.
No need to add that after that explanation, they ghost by mutual consent.
This rose milk punch is super easy.
It’s made of 1 part of alcohol, 1 part of tea, and 2 parts of milk.
I used red fruits and Earl Grey tea and Port liquor. Gin is a great substitute. Whole milk is perfect but cream is a good sub. I like the tangy red fruit tea, if too sour for you add a pinch of sugar or sugar syrup. It depends of the liquor you are going to use. Make a small glass to try and adjust following your taste.
I decorate it with jelly alphabet letters that I made I just melting gummy candies. I poured them over an oiled mold and let cool for three or four hours. With the same alphabet mold, I also made iced letters using the red fruits tea (I made it very strong for the color).
As it was s not poetic enough, I filled tiny heartshaped ice cubes water and tiny edible flowers.
I tried to float gummy bears, but they were too heavy and sunk.
